Skipper Fisheries Limited
As part of the Comeau’s Sea Foods family since its
acquisition in 1983, Skipper Fisheries is located in West Pubnico,
Nova Scotia and has been in operation since 1976.
Skipper Fisheries operates in two primary areas of
business – saltfish production and a self-contained welding shop.
The company also sells live lobster and frozen turbot. Like other
Comeau’s production facilities, Skipper Fisheries is a federally-registered
processing plant and is guided by the Fish Inspection regulations
of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The company’s salt cod, pollock and hake products
are popular with loyal customers across North America, and are
exported to Mexico and Portugal.
Skipper Fisheries welding shop is primarily focused
on aluminium and stainless steel fabrication for repair and maintenance
of the company’s own production facilities and fishing vessels,
including outboard motor propellers. Other items of interest to
