Frankland Canning Division
Frankland Canning, Comeau’s Sea Foods earliest
acquisition in 1976, is located in Church Point, Nova Scotia.
The company’s primary interest is the bottling, marinating and
preserving of quality herring products.
The company’s production facility supplements natural
herring goodness by adding tasty flavours designed for the domestic
market. These marinades include house blend, white wine sauce,
dill, and barbeque. Other canned products include Bismark Rollmops,
Bismark Fillets, salted dresses, lunch cuts, cocktail rollmops.
Salted whole, hard and soft cured herring are also processed through
Frankland Canning.
Like all members of the Comeau’s Sea Foods
family, Frankland Canning considers both food quality and customer
satisfaction as top priorities. The cannery strictly adheres to
the requirements of the Fish Inspection Regulations as set out
by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Specifically, Frankland
Canning, as a federally registered fish-processing plant, is guided
by the specifications of the CFIA’s Quality Management Program
and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point.
In keeping with Comeau’s Sea Foods
commitment to innovation and excellence, Frankland Canning has
recently invested in new capping and labelling equipment. These
items have enhanced production efficiency and flexibility by ensuring
that Comeau’s Sea Foods maintains its place as a top-grade seafood
producer.
The company has maintained a superior standard of
operation, generates excellent and consistent product, and has
developed export activities in the United States.
