Comeau's Fleet of Vessels
Comeau’s Sea Foods owns and operates
seven modern fishing vessels for scallop and herring harvesting.
These vessels are all equipped with modern cooling equipment to
fast chill our catch before icing – preserving freshness from
ocean, right to your table.
Our fleet of four ‘state-of-the-art’ offshore scallop
draggers include the Lady Comeau II, Lady Denise II, Lady Lisa,
and Lady Yvette II. Comeau’s vessels fish along the banks of Nova
Scotia’s coast and George’s Bank, one of the richest fishing areas
in the world.
Comeau’s Sea Foods also owns and
operates a fleet of three large seiners that harvest herring from
May through to October. The Lady Janice, Lady Noreen and Lady
Melissa all fish in the Bay of Fundy area and off the Scotian
coast.
Herring are generally caught overnight, fast chilled
on board, then brought back to shore in the morning to preserve
freshness and superior quality. The fish is then processed in
other Comeau’s facilities, generating packs of fresh or frozen
fillets, whole round or fish bait.
